AIWF is pleased to share that Haifa Al Kaylani OBE, President & Founder, has contributed to ‘The Business of Philanthropy’, an insightful new book by Badr Afar published by Harper Collins on 24/10/24.
In this book, Haifa discusses the power of giving and how it can create real change for women and young people in the MENA region, driving transformation and progress and shaping a more sustainable, equitable future for all. She said: “I am proud to have joined philanthropists around the world to support Badr’s stellar efforts to highlight and promote the power of sustainable philanthropy, impact investing and charitable giving, and how it could transform the economic and social empowerment of women and young people, and indeed marginalised communities all over the world.”
A collection of one-on-one discussions with 40 of the world’s greatest thought and action leaders and prominent philanthropic figures, The Business of Philanthropy features diverse insights into the power of strategic philanthropy to inform, inspire and mobilise the next generation of social innovators in their pursuit of positive social and environmental impact. In conversation with social entrepreneur Badr Jafar, philanthropic leaders including Bill Gates, Baroness Valerie Amos, Kristalina Georgieva, David Miliband, Razan Al Mubarak and many more discuss their hopes and priorities for the world of today and tomorrow. Their insights shed new light on the increasingly important role that strategic philanthropy is playing in helping to address some of the world’s greatest challenges. In a world that is confronting a host of grave interconnected risks, this book reveals fresh perspectives on old and new problems, and provides a much-needed infusion of hope and optimism in our collective capacity to meet this historic moment.
AIWF extends its warmest congratulations to Badr Afar on the publication of this very special work and conveys the appreciation and admiration of the AIWF Board for his tenacious and sustained efforts to raise awareness of the importance and unprecedented social impact of philanthropy. All author proceeds from this book are being donated to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in support of children affected by armed conflict. Get your copy here: https://bit.ly/BadrJafar
