AIWF President & Founder Haifa Al Kaylani attended a special dinner/discussion in Dubai earlier this week on the occasion of the launch of a major study, ‘Giving in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): Evolving towards strategic philanthropy’, conducted by The  in partnership with LGT.

The dinner discussion welcomed H.S.H. Prince Max von Liechtenstein, Chairman of LGT Group and Founder of LGT Venture Philanthropy; HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah, Philanthropist and Founder of Intisar Foundation; Badr Jafar, CEO of Crescent Enterprises and Founding Patron of The Centre for Strategic Philanthropy at CJBS; and Clare Woodcraft, former CEO of Emirates Foundation, who all shared their valuable insights on the important findings of this path-breaking study and their knowledge of how to further philanthropy in the region.

Despite the growing importance and scale of philanthropy across the MENA, in-depth research on giving has up to now been remarkably limited. The goal of this study is to help address this knowledge gap and provide important insights into the unique socioeconomic and cultural context for our region’s giving, as well as the motivations, approaches and opportunities for strategic philanthropy in the Gulf Region.

Our sincere congratulations to all involved in the creation of this excellent and timely study, which can be downloaded here:
