AIWF is delighted to share that our valued Member Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani, Qatar Chamber board member and Chairperson of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum recently participated as a panel member and distinguished speaker in the fifth Gulf Businesswomen Forum 2023 and the accompanying exhibition held in Jeddah, KSA.

The forum was held under the theme of “Gulf Woman: Between Empowerment and Leadership”, and welcomed more than 1000 leading figures from the Gulf and other Arab countries. The two-day forum was organized by the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers, the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the Chamber of Jeddah.

In her distinguished participation, Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani emphasised the important role that Gulf businesswomen play in economic and sustainable development, and how the Qatari leadership greatly supports Qatari women and contributes to their leadership globally. In her speech, Mrs Al-Ahmadani said: “From the challenges of the age of diving and from the developments of the age of technology, Qatari women were inspired by their start”. She added that Gulf women started to take their first steps towards consolidating their position, proving themselves, and contributing to the development of society in a real way. It is becoming clear that the future for Gulf women will be better, especially since women’s view of their role began to go beyond the scope of the small family to include society and even extended to include humanity as a whole.

Mrs Al-Ahmadani stressed that the continuation of Gulf women in their pursuit of empowerment must be based on various foundations and elements of science as the primary force that will support them to achieve their goals. Mrs Al-Ahmadani also expressed her sincere appreciation to Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser for the Education Above All (EAA) initiative, highlighting how such leadership paved the way for Qatari women to occupy senior positions and contribute to the society, which in turn has empowered her to become an advanced model for sustainable development.
